A royal waste of time and money?

Greg Barns thinks the Bushfire Royal Commission is, “A royal waste of time and money”.

“Would it not have been better for the government to appoint independent panels of experts in these areas to come up with solutions? Take building design for example. Surely architects, builders and materials specialists are best placed to tell the government what is suitable in terms of mitigating bushfire risk, rather than having their evidence and expertise filtered through a legal process.”

No. That would result in a fragmented outcome.

The Royal Commission is not a waste of money. It’s a necessary step. We need to work out what went wrong, and how to fix it.

The question Greg should be concentrating on is, “will the Government adopt the recommendations?”
